Juneteenth Vegan Social
We are excited to enjoy a Sri Lankan brunch with you all at Black-owned Mirisata in honor of Juneteenth.
Mirisate has kindly offered to set a few tables aside for us so please UPDATE YOUR RSVP BY 9AM ON 6/19. When you arrive, look for the “Vegan Social” sign.
Juneteenth (June + 19th) is also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, or Emancipation Day and is now a federal holiday to honor and celebrate liberation.
It was 156 years ago on June 19, 1865, that all Black Americans were freed from slavery (despite the Emancipation Proclamation occurring two years prior). Today, the holiday is all about celebrating Black culture, history, and life.
Mirisate is located at 2420 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97214
