Anti Fur March – Portland
October 9 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Portland’s largest retailers have stopped selling fur but some retailers still do and legislators have yet to take action to ban the sale and production of fur in the state.
Portland will be joining forces with Los Angeles, NYC, Toronto, London, Boston, Berkeley, and other cities to put pressure on the brands that help keep the fur industry alive.
MEETING POINT is at Nordstrom’s Pioneer Square store at 1pm. There will be a brief celebration of the victory that Nordstrom will be officially fur free by 20221,and then we will start marching at 1:30 SHARP. Don’t be late, or you will be left behind.
During the march, we will stop at Mario’s, which has yet to enact a fur-free policy, and Portland City Hall, which has yet to introduce a fur sale ban ordinance, despite signatures of support from nearly 5,000 residents and dozens of local businesses.
Feel free to bring your megaphones, whistles, drums, signs, banners, etc. or they will be provided to you.
Please send out invites, and share the event page to you social media platforms.
Feel free to encourage your activists friends around the world to join in on this action, and set up their own event.
